Cleaning & Sealing
Some natural stone types are more porous than others, but, generally speaking, all natural stone is susceptible to staining. Countertops see their fair share of spills. That’s why it’s important to have your natural stone countertops sealed. Whether you’ve had your counters forever and it’s time they were resealed, or the contractors just finished installing them, Michigan Stone and Surface Care can professionally clean and seal your natural stone countertops.
Stain Removal
Stains happen. Sometimes there’s just no way around it. If you find yourself with a stained countertop, don’t hesitate to contact us. We can resolve most stains in all types of natural stone and get your counters looking beautiful again.
Scratch & Etch Removal
Many foods and drinks are acidic, which means they can cause a chemical reaction with the calcium in natural stone, resulting in etching. Though some people mistake etching for a stain or “water spots,” it is actually acid damage to the surface of the stone that can't be cleaned away. Fortunately, our skilled technicians can hone your countertops to remove this damage, as well as scratch marks and dullness, and refinish your countertops to like-new condition. (To prevent this kind of damage, always using cutting boards, preferably ones with a groove around the edge to prevent overflow of liquids, wipe up spills right away, and use a pH neutral countertop cleaner.)
Crack & Chip Repair
Pots and other cooking implements can be heavy and no matter how durable the stone, if you drop something on it at just the right (or the wrong!) angle – just like that, you’ve got a chip. It’s the sort of thing that can invite negative attention to an otherwise pristine countertop. But it doesn’t have to. Michigan Stone and Surface can repair most chips and cracks in a seamless manner.
Honing & Polishing
Can you tell what part of the counter you work on most because it’s duller than the rest? Or maybe it’s just time for a change of pace? Michigan Stone and Surface Care's countertop honing and polishing services can restore the evenly polished glory of your tops, change that highly polished finish to a honed (matte or satin) one or vice versa, delivering just the look you want.
